M-TIBA

M-TIBA prides itself on providing affordable and accessible healthcare for all. This healthcare system allows you to set aside some funds for your medical expenses starting with as little as Ksh 10. It’s an ideal plan for low-income earners since the payments are flexible. The funds are managed by UAP Insurance and can only be used to pay for medical services and medication. They’ve also partnered with Jubilee Insurance to provide insurance coverage for SACCO members. The minimum premium is Kshs 4,265 annually which comes with an inbuilt maternity cover, last expense, and personal accident cover

Equihealth

Equihealth is another healthcare that targets individuals in a group. To qualify, you must be in a group of not less than 10 people. The cover has a family shared limit of Ksh 300,000 and an affordable premium of Ksh 15,000 per year for the principal member and five dependants and an additional Ksh 1,500 for an extra dependant. It provides caters to daily bed limits, intensive care, theatre costs, nursing fee, surgeons, physicians fees, drugs, medicine, x-rays, diagnostic tests and procedures. The maternity cover caters for normal and CS delivery, including pregnancy-related complications within the overall limit is covered up to Ksh 30,000. The cover also caters for the following newly diagnosed or pre-existing health conditions to a limit of Ksh 150,000. Inpatient dental and optical treatment is fully covered within the limit.

Britam Insurance Afya Tele Cover

Britam offers an array of medical covers that are tailored to specific needs which has earned them a reputation as one of the best insurance companies in the country. Afya Tele is one of the products they offer and it targets people within groups such as SMEs, Microfinance institutions, Saccos, chamas, self-help groups, government institutions, education institutions and religious groups. Group members should be more than 10 people. It covers inpatient expenses up to Ksh 750,000, outpatient expenses up to Ksh 75,000 and funeral expenses up to Ksh 75,000.

Co-op Bank Medicare

This is one of the oldest insurance companies in the country having existed for over 6 decades. They offer tailored and affordable medical covers for individuals, families and groups. Their rates start from Ksh 14,715 and cover inpatient expenses up to Ksh 10 million. They also have a separate maternity cover with premium charges starting from Ksh 13,283.

Resolution Health

This is one of the core products offered by Resolution Insurance and one of the most affordable medical covers in the country. They have several plans that provide different benefits. For instance, their Value plan offers clients high-quality inpatient care as well as annual wellness checkup for adults, daily cash payments for accident and illness admissions up to 180 days, maternity cover and newborn illness cover, organ transplants and homecare services. The coverage limits are up to Ksh 10,000,000 depending on the premium payment.

Madison Insurance Betterlife Budget Plan

The Betterlife Budget plan is an economic plan with a greatly discounted premium starting from Ksh 13, 100. Outpatient limits are between Kshs. 50,000 – 200,000 and maternity limits are between Kshs. 50,000 – 100,000.
