Safaricom in partnership with Jamii Telecom and Chinese firm Shenzhen TeleOne Technology launched a device assembly plant in Athi River earlier in the week. During the launch they showcased two devices that is the NEON ULTRA and the Smarta.
The Neon brand is synonymous with Safaricom which should help with market penetration. The phones are priced at an affordable rate of Ksh. 7,499 ($50) and I can’t wait to see the data on the market uptake.
