HMD Global launched the Nokia X30 5G in the Kenyan market in May this year, the phone is the latest in the X series of phones with the XR20 being launched in 2021. The phone is famed as being Nokia’s most eco-friendly smartphone with a 100% recycled aluminum frame and a 65% recycled plastic back.

The device’s eco-friendliness can be seen in the fact that it comes with a bare minimum of accessories. This can be interpreted as a move to reduce the carbon footprint from manufacturing the phone.

The phone comes with a glass front, aluminum frame and plastic back which has a matte finish giving it a premium look, it fits comfortably in the hand and has just the right amount of weight.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm) processor that is coupled with a 90Hz refresh rate which is variable for a smoother and more responsive experience. The Nokia X30 comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM and runs on the Android 12 OS but this has seen been upgraded to Android 13.
It comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 1080P high resolution. The phone has about 700 nits of peak brightness and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The selfie camera is located in the middle of the screen near the top edge and just above it we have the earpiece hidden behind a mesh. The top edge features a microphone and a second pinhole which we couldn’t figure its use since HMD Global has indicated that the Nokia X30 only has 2 microphones. The right edge features the volume up and down rocker and a power button. The bottom of the phone holds a sim tray that can house two nano-SIM cards, a microSD card expansion slot, a stereo speaker, Type C charging port and a microphone. It has with a dual camera setup at the back, that is 50 MP (wide), 13MP (ultrawide) and a 16 MP selfie camera.
