How to apply for a course on the KUCCPS Students Portal

KUCCPS has announced the opening of applications for 266 government-run Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, set to begin in May.

According to the notice applicants for Diploma courses will need a minimum mean grade of C-, while those applying for Craft Certificate must have a D grade. Artisan Certificate courses require a minimum mean grade of E.

Here is how to go about applying for a Diploma or Certificate course on the KUCCPS Students Portal.

1. Log in to KUCCPS Students Portal.
2. Enter the applicant’s KCSE Index Number without a stroke (/).
3. Enter the KCSE Year.
4. Enter a password, which is the Applicant’s Birth Certificate Number [Entry Number] or KCPE Index Number.
5. Click the tab “Programme Lists” where you will see the various programs.
6. Click any of the programs depending on the course or institutions that you wish to apply for.
7. Download the document under the course that you have selected.
8. Check the downloaded document for available programs, program codes, previous cut-off points and other information.
9. Ensure to note down the Programme Codes for all the courses that you intend to apply for.
10. Back to the portal, on the menu bar, click “Application/Revision”. Here you will see either one or two forms for submitting the programme codes at different levels (Degree only or Degree and Diploma or Diploma and Certificate or Certificate and Artisan or Artisan only).
11. Type the programme codes that you noted down earlier, in the relevant form. (To minimise errors, you will not be able to copy and paste the program codes.) As you type the codes, you will notice that the system will be “Fetching Data” and “Checking Requirements”.
12. Allow these processes to complete before you submit.
13. Once the system has completed fetching data and checking requirements, it will display the name of each programme under the respective codes and indicate if the student meets the minimum requirements.
14. After all the programme data has been fetched and displayed, click “Submit.” A pop-up box will display payment instructions.
15. On the pop-up message, click “HERE” to pay the indicated amount. The system will open a payment page as a new tab.
16. Select your preferred payment method and follow the instructions.
