Safaricom held engagements in Mt.Kenya region including meeting the business community, its dealers from across Mt Kenya, and the regional media.
The engagements are part of the ongoing Sambaza Furaha Campaign, and are meant to empower, celebrate and enhance relationships between Safaricom and its key stakeholders in the region as the company is traversing different towns in the region through a caravan spreading festive joy and Christmas cheer.
The dealer engagement held in Meru provided a platform for more than 50 Safaricom and M-PESA dealers to share their experiences, achievements, and insights gained from their enduring collaboration with Safaricom. This forum underscored the critical role dealers have played in supporting Safaricom’s vision of transforming lives by connecting people to people, people to knowledge and people to opportunities through technology and innovation.
Mary Karanja said “I have been a Safaricom dealer for 22 years, something I feel happy about. It is wonderful to see the company recognize and celebrate us as they mark 24 years of transforming lives. Personally, Safaricom has transformed my life tremendously and has enabled me to create jobs for others.” Said Mrs. Karanja
Through these engagements, Safaricom reinforced its commitment to nurturing strong relationships with its stakeholders, celebrating shared success, and continuing its mission to transform lives in every corner of the country.
“As we continue to Sambaza Furaha to our customers, we recognize the critical role of our dealers as key stakeholders. Today, we celebrate them together with the journalists and the entire business community from this region, spreading Christmas cheers and joy with them.” Said James Muteti, Mt. Kenya Regional Lead – Safaricom.
Additionally, Safaricom hosted the 5th edition of its Grow with Safaricom Business series in Nanyuki today. The event targeted MSMEs, engaging over 150 entrepreneurs from across the region and equipping them with knowledge to scale their businesses using technology.
These engagements are part of Safaricom’s ongoing community activities in the Central region, where the company is spreading festive cheer through various gifts, including goats, chickens, food hampers, airtime, and other items to celebrate its customers in the area through Sambaza Furaha campaign.
The Sambaza Furaha campaign kicked off in the Central Region on Monday, November 18, with a caravan traversing major towns and markets along different routes including Murang’a, Nyeri, Othaya, Karatina, Nanyuki, Meru, Maua among others, spreading blessings and joy to residents.
Today, the caravan will travel through Gakoromone, Nkubu, Mitunguu, Tunyai, Kathwana and Chuka. Tomorrow, it will pass through Runyenjes, Embu, Kerugoya, Kagio and Mwea.
Beyond spreading holiday cheer, Safaricom is also engaging in various community activities, including S-Hook workshops for youth at Thika Technical in Thika-Kiambu County and free medical camps at Rubate Technical Teachers College Grounds in Tharaka Nithi County.
