Grade 10 Placement; How to change schools before admission

Grade 10 placement results for the Grade 9 pupils already out, however, a lot of parents are not happy with the schools that their children have been placed in. As a result, Ministry of Education has provided a revision window for Grade 9 learners who are dissatisfied with their initial Grade 10 placement.

Here is how one can change the school placement.

Grade 10 Online Revision

A parent can be able to revise the school choices digitally through the Ministry of Education placement portal starting December 23.

Junior School Head

Alternatively, parents can also make a request through the head of the current junior school at least two weeks before the Grade 10 reporting date.

Replacement Process

Approvals for school changes are based on the documented capacity of the requested senior school. Priority is being given to learners who had previously selected that school during their initial 12 choices.

Please note that once a replacement is approved, it is irreversible and can only be done once.

Admission Letters

If you are planning to change schools, please remember not to download the calling letter for the current placement. This is due to the fact that this may finalize your admission to that institution.

Reporting Date

The official reporting date for all Grade 10 students is *January 12, 2026.

School Change Requirements

• Parents must submit change requests through junior school heads.

• Requests due at least two weeks before January 12, 2026 (deadline: December 29, 2025)

• Priority given to learners who previously selected the requested schools.

• All decisions determined by documented school capacity limits.
