BasiGo has appointed Moses Nderitu as the Managing Directors in Kenya. At the same time, they appointed Doreen Orishaba as the Rwanda MD.
The move signifies the company’s ambitious expansion plans and commitment to driving the shift towards clean and sustainable public transport in East Africa.
Mr Nderitu, a seasoned advocate for electric mobility, takes the helm in Kenya. His proven track record includes introducing electric buses to the Kenyan matatu sector, securing over 450 reservations, and actively contributing to the Electric Mobility Association of Kenya (EMAK).
BasiGo currently operates 19 electric buses in Nairobi, aiming to deploy 1,000 by 2026 through their innovative Pay-As-You-Drive model.
Ms Orishaba, is a seasoned engineer with expertise in electric vehicle design and strategy, leads the charge in Rwanda. Joining BasiGo in 2022, she spearheaded the company’s expansion to Rwanda and played a key role in establishing the pilot program. Under her leadership, BasiGo aims to deliver 200 electric buses to Kigali by 2025.
