The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that it has revised the entry criteria for joining Teacher Training Colleges as part of the reforms in the education sector.
Key among the changes is minimum requirement of a mean grade of C plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination. The MOE has done away with the subject cluster which was previously required to admit students to the teacher training course. Students were required to have C plain in all the cluster subjects as well as in English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, a humanity and a science subject. This combination most often than not proved a hard nut to crack for the majority.
With the these changes, there are 13,439 slots for teacher trainees in Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) programs in 32 public colleges.
To make your application through KUCCPS online portal, follow the simple steps below:

The duration for the diploma training will be three years, according to the approved curriculum designs. With the total cost for the first year being Ksh. 72,076.
The trainees will only be able to specialize in three subject areas, having attained a minimum KCSE grade of C (Plain) in the learning areas they wish to focus on. The areas for specialization have been grouped into four clusters, but teachers will only pick one subject per category for specialty.
